How to be a Vocal Local!

Vocal Local was set up by the Norfolk County Strategic Partnership working alongside Barker Johnson Peal Ltd. marketing consultancy, The Point Advertising and Empresa IT solutions providers.

The 'How to be a Vocal Local!' campaign aims to get people together and take an interest in their local community by voicing their opinions and discussing various topics. Individuals of all ages can work together, join in and debate. Assorted feedback is given from different public sectors, including the NHS and Police.

The initial logo identity for the 'How to be a Vocal Local!' campaign was created by The Point Advertising. Working to a strict brief, Empresa were set the challenge of designing and building the Vocal Local web site.

Due to the wide target audience of the campaign, it was crucial that the site looked friendly and was functional. Clear visual communication and a simple UX (user experience) was a necessary asset to the design to ensure visitor return.

Rafael Kent, lead digital design strategist from Empresa, stated: 'We wanted to incite a confident, fresh, punchy feel into the Vocal Local web site, which reflects the core philosophy of the campaign. Focusing on content, with a simple robust design solution was essential'

The Vocal Local web site has many sectors to explore and get involved in, from community safety and criminal justice to local democracy and health and social care. You can even become a school governor, trustee or councillor.

'Whatever you choose you will end up making a difference... so go on, be a vocal local.'
